When it sounds too good to be true ...

.. it probably is.

If the person who made up that line got a penny every time somebody find himself in a similar situation, he'd probably be a multi-billionaire now.

So, I was doing my daily grind when I stumbled upon this site: KID - Keep Improving Daily -- You are still too young to learn more today. ( I really wished he didn't add the sub-title anymore, it sounds condescending to me.)

It's obviously written by a fellow Pinoy and what brought me to the side was this entry: Money Making Secrets thru Buy and Sell of Cellphones Online. In that article, he tells you his story of buying cellphone from Greenhills and selling them online with markup of about twenty percent. Considering that he's not keeping inventory, that's not a bad rate of return.

After reading this particular post I decided to explore his site and found other interesting information but it also got me to: I am earning money from SlashMySearch . In that post he claims that he's earning money (in US dollars, by the way) by using a search engine provided by SlashMySearch. A member of the site is paid a quarter USD for every hour s/he's online and using their search engine. At this point, I was telling myself that I'd probably found my road to easy money! Considering that my work is done mostly online and that I constantly scour the Internet for data and information. (Using my favorite search engine, of course: Google - all my bases are belong to google.)

It's a multi-level network modus operandi. I can use the services myself but you are encourage to recruit downlines so that you'd earn more dollars. So I googled it up and found other people posting "proof" that they (or someone else) already got paid for it.

However, taking a closer look at these proofs will tell you something else. They're using the same picture over and over again! Geesh! (And at that point, I began to wonder about the credibility of the KID site owner)

So, futher searching led me to another company with similar operandi: Agloco.

Which then brought me to this nice little site: Trader's Narrative. He wrote: Agloco: The Beginning of the End

So today's lesson are: (a) Google is a friend; (b) Alway do your homework; and (c) If it's too good to be true ...

I am the site owner of K.I.D. I did not say that that I own the picture. I took it from somewhere that I dont remember anymore. Let's just say that I got convinced by the picture so I decided to share it with my fellow readers. I havent been really active promoting that site, I just posted that in one of my blog and in another forum where I frequent. That is all. Eventually the visitor for that link died down. So it is no longer active.

Currently I am earning $2 from slashmysearch, enough to pay my webspace rent.

Better way of earning thru this part is not thru referrals, but by settings the site as your homepage. From what I noticed, Everytime you open your browser, it gets tallied in the earnings. So I kept on doing it.

Thank you for posting a comment. I did not notice your comment in my moderation until today, after too much thinking, i decided to remove it because i find it offensive in my side.

If you have further questions, leave a comment again and I promise I will show it to readers. As long as it is not offensive. I will create a blog regarding this incident later.

Note; All incidents i blogged specially the cellphone part is true. But the slashmysearch area seems to be a lack of judgement in my part for not informing the readers if I own the picture or not. After all, i noticed that many people are using it, might as well use it in mine.

Another thing, thank you for commenting about the subtitle of my blog. Least that I want to do is to look down to people, that subtitle i thought would motivate people to learn more. If you think that it is bad, i will remove it for you.

K.I.D. is my true personal advocate. Everytime i hear criticisms like this, i take that to be constructive that i should improve my things further.

Thanks again.

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.

I guess it's just another splendid reminder about the nature of stuff that we could discover on the Internet.
